David has advised Executive Management and Boards of Directors  in Digital transformation initiatives, structuring and managing portfolios, developing and implementing regional strategies, improving organizational control environment and  effectiveness (including Fraud Risk controls, identification, investigations & reporting), designing performance improvement and growth programs, spearheaded design and development of financial institution Risk Management Framework & leading implementation across multiple countries, advising on planning and execution of systems integration during M&A projects including post merger integration & data integrity pre/post acquisitions, advising on the design, selection, acquisition and implementation of multiple IT systems, including the review/selection and acquisition of Core Banking Systems. David has worked across a wide array of industries, including the Financial Sector, Information Technology,  Telecommunications, Media & Advertising. He currently focuses on client advisory & consulting work bringing much needed fresh insights into Digital transformation, Risk Management, Governance, and operational Excellence to clients across the EA region.

A respected thought leader who has over the years been invited to share his insights and views at high-level executive conferences in East and Southern Africa, the Middle East and the United Kingdom. He is currently co-authoring a book on ‘Effective Corporate Leadership in Building Operational Excellence’.

Prior to taking the reigns at OPEXft Consulting, David held various Executive and Board leadership positions, served as a Group Head of Risk & Compliance for one of the leading regional Banks in East Africa, Group Chief Operating Officer, Member of the Board of Directors for a Mortgage Refinance Company and Chair of the company’s Board Audit and Risk Committee. David holds an MBA in Risk Management from University of Wales, a BSc from Oxford-Brookes University, and Accounting qualification from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants – UK (ACCA), a certified banker by the Tanzania Institute of Bankers.
